Ramprasad Sen (রামপ্রসাদ সেন)

Ramprasad Sen was an eighteenth century's Indian Bengali sadak (saint), poet and composer from West Bengal.  His parents were Ramram Sen and Siddheswari Devi. He was married to a pious lady, Sarbani Devi.  His literary works are Vidyasundar (Kalikamangal), Shaktageeti, Kali-Kirtan, and Krishna-Kirtan. His devotional songs are known as 'Ramprasadi'. Raja Krishna Chandra Roy (awarded the title 'Kobiranjan' to Ramprasad), Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and others were deeply influenced by Ramprasad. Kusumkumari Das (কুসুমকুমারী দাশ)

Kusumkumari Das (also known as Kusumkumari Devi) was an Indian Bengali poet, writer and social activist.  She was born to Chandranath Das and Dhanamani Devi on 21 September 1875 in Barishal, present-day Bangladesh. She married Satyananda Das in 1894. She had two sons and one daughter. Her son Jibanananda Das was a famous poet and writer.  Her writings were published in the then famous Bengali literary magazines like 'Mukul', 'Bhramabadi', 'Prabasi', etc. Her books are 'Kabyamukul', 'Pouranik Akhyayika', 'Kusumkumari Dasher Kobita' and 'Dainandin Dinalipi'. She received a gold medal for the essay 'Naritver Adarsha'.  She died on 25 December 1948 in Kolkata, India. Medha Bandyopadhyay (মেধা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়)

Sakhigopal Deb (সাক্ষীগোপাল দেব)

Sakhigopal Deb (also spelt as Sakshigopal Deb) is an Indian Bengali poet, writer and columnist from Kandi, Murshidabad, West Bengal. He is a member (follower) of 'Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha'.  His books are 'Panchajanya', 'Surer Khunje', 'Mon-Ton-Pran', 'Karasmriti - Jaruri Abasthar Khonda Chitra', etc. He received the 'Annadashankar Smriti Samman' in 2018 for his outstanding contributions to Bengali literature.  He is a regular columnist in the newspaper 'Notun Prithivi'. His literature reflects the thoughts of holistic philosophical theory 'Neohumanism' given by Indian spiritual guru and philosopher Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Anangamohini Devi (অনঙ্গমোহিনী দেবী)

Anangamohini Devi was an Indian Bengali poet from Tripura.  She was born on 20 February 1864.  Her father was Bir Chandra Manikya. He inspired her to write poetry. She also got inspiration and help from Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Her poetry books are 'Kanika' (1899), 'Shokagatha' (1906, written after the death of her husband) and 'Priti' (1910). Her poems were published regularly in the famous Bengali literary magazines like 'Bharati', 'Prabasi', etc.  She died on 13 May 1918. Alecha Khatun (আলেছা খাতুন)

Sirsho Bandyopadhyay (শীর্ষ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়)

Sirsho Bandyopadhyay (also spelt as Sirsha Bandyopadhyay, born in 1967) was an Indian Bengali journalist, novelist, story-writer and essayist from West Bengal.  He wrote a total number of 14 books. His books are 'Sandhya Rater Shefali', 'Tero Nadir Pare', 'Joler Upor Daag', 'Ramaniratan', 'Paramnidhi', 'Etharsena' etc. His most notable work is 'Shardul Sundari' (novel). Rajanikanta Sen (রজনীকান্ত সেন)

  Rajanikanta Sen was an Indian Bengali poet, song composer, singer and lawyer. He is also known as 'Kantakobi'.  He was born to Guruprasad Sen and Manomohini Devi on 26 July 1865 in Bhangabari, Sirajganj, (previously Pabna) present-day Bangladesh. He was a meritorious student. He worked as a lawyer in the Rajshahi Court. Later he became a judicial officer. He married Hiranmayi Devi in 1883. He published three books when he was alive. They are  ' Bani' (1902), Kalyani (1905) and Amrita (1910). The books published after his death  were 'Abhaya' (1910), 'Anandamayi' (1910), 'Bishram' (1910), 'Sadbhabkusum' (1913), 'Shesdan' (1916), 'Pathachintamani' and 'Abhay Bihar'.  He wrote many devotional, patriotic, humanitarian and satirical songs which are included in the books ' Bani' and 'Kalyani'. Sukumar Sarkar (সুকুমার সরকার)

  Sukumar Sarkar is an Indian Bengali poet, novelist, historian, essayist, story-writer, educationist and columnist.  He was born into a Bengali family on 31 December 1965 in Kaldighi, Gangarampur, Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal. He got M. A. in Bengali language and literature. He is a member (follower) of 'Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha'.  He is a regular columnist in the newspaper 'Notun Prithivi'. His literature reflects the thoughts of holistic philosophical theory 'Neohumanism' given by Indian spiritual guru and philosopher Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Aparajita Roy (অপরাজিতা রায়)

  Aparajita Roy was an Indian Bengali poet and essayist.  She was born on the 27th July, 1929 in Guwahati, Assam. She came to Agartala during the 1950s and worked as a government school teacher. She retired from service as the additional director of the education department of Tripura.  Her literary career ran over four decades. Her books are 'Baire Baul', 'Sahityer Bibartita Bastab', 'Jharo Hawar Jhapta', 'Narimukti O Rabindranath', 'Ekhano Andhakaar', 'Dwitiya Sharir', etc.  She was awarded the 'Rabindra Puraskar' by the Government of Tripura in 2001. Sunirmal Basu (সুনির্মল বসু)

  Sunirmal Basu was an Indian Bengali poet and writer. He was a celebrated children's writer.  He was born into a reputed Bengali family  on 20 July 1902 in Giridih, Bihar, British India. His ancestral home was in present-day Bangladesh. His grandfather, Girish Chandra Basu, was a journalist and writer. Agni Kumar Acharjee (also spelt as Agnikumar Acharjee, died on 3 August 2020 at 85) was an Indian Bengali poet, song composer, dramatist, producer of TV programme, school book writer and government officer (TPSC)  from Jogendranagar, Agartala, Tripura.  His wife died much earlier. Akhandamandaleshwar Shri Shri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansadeva (অখন্ডমন্ডলেশ্বর শ্রী শ্রী স্বামী স্বরূপানন্দ পরমহংসদেব)

Akhandamandaleshwar Shri Shri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansadeva (also known as Babamani) was an Indian religious leader, social reformer, song composer, poet and writer from West Bengal. He was the founder of "Ayachak Ashrama" (অযাচক আশ্রম).  He was born to Satish Chandra Gangopadhyay and Mamata Devi on 25 December 1885 or 27 December 1899 in Chandpur, Bangladesh (British Raj). His birth name was Bankim Chandra Gangopadhyay. He was a brilliant student.  Once the country was independent, he took formal vows of Sannyas on the occasion of Maha Kumbha at Haridwar from Mahamandaleshwar Jayendra Puri who named this new disciple as Akhandamandaleshwar Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Deva. However, his followers respectfully address him as 'Babamani'. He wrote many books on spirituality, social values and literature.
