Aparajita Roy (অপরাজিতা রায়)

 


Aparajita Roy was an Indian Bengali poet and essayist. 

She was born on the 27th July, 1929 in Guwahati, Assam. She came to Agartala during the 1950s and worked as a government school teacher. She retired from service as the additional director of the education department of Tripura. 

Her literary career ran over four decades. Her books are 'Baire Baul', 'Sahityer Bibartita Bastab', 'Jharo Hawar Jhapta', 'Narimukti O Rabindranath', 'Ekhano Andhakaar', 'Dwitiya Sharir', etc. 

She was awarded the 'Rabindra Puraskar' by the Government of Tripura in 2001. She died on the 11th September, 2020 in Tripura.

Ramprasad Sen (রামপ্রসাদ সেন)

Ramprasad Sen was an eighteenth century's Indian Bengali sadak (saint), poet and composer from West Bengal.  His parents were Ramram Sen and Siddheswari Devi. He was married to a pious lady, Sarbani Devi.  His literary works are Vidyasundar (Kalikamangal), Shaktageeti, Kali-Kirtan, and Krishna-Kirtan. His devotional songs are known as 'Ramprasadi'. Raja Krishna Chandra Roy (awarded the title 'Kobiranjan' to Ramprasad), Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and others were deeply influenced by Ramprasad. Sunirmal Basu (সুনির্মল বসু)

  Sunirmal Basu was an Indian Bengali poet and writer. He was a celebrated children's writer.  He was born into a reputed Bengali family  on 20 July 1902 in Giridih, Bihar, British India. His ancestral home was in present-day Bangladesh. His grandfather, Girish Chandra Basu, was a journalist and writer.
