Neohumanism (নব্যমানবতাবাদ)

Neohumanism is a philosophy given by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, an Indian Guru, philosopher, social reformer, and founder of the spiritual movement Ananda Marga. Sarkar introduced the concept of Neohumanism in 1982 as a new paradigm for individual and social transformation.

Neohumanism is based on the belief that all living beings, including human beings, are interconnected and interdependent. It emphasizes the importance of love and compassion towards all living beings, regardless of their species, race, religion, or nationality. Neohumanism calls for a shift from an anthropocentric view of the world to a more holistic, ecological, and compassionate approach that considers the needs of all living beings.

According to Sarkar, Neohumanism has five fundamental principles:

Service to all: Neohumanism emphasizes the importance of serving others, particularly those who are less fortunate. It calls for a shift from a self-centered approach to a service-oriented one that prioritizes the needs of others.

Spiritual practice: Neohumanism emphasizes the importance of spiritual practice as a means of personal and social transformation. It encourages individuals to cultivate their inner selves and develop a deeper understanding of their place in the world.

Progressive outlook: Neohumanism calls for a progressive outlook that embraces change and encourages individuals to work towards creating a better world for all living beings. It emphasizes the importance of social and environmental justice, equality, and sustainability.

Cosmic outlook: Neohumanism encourages individuals to develop a cosmic outlook that recognizes the interconnectedness and interdependence of all living beings and the universe. It emphasizes the importance of developing a sense of awe and wonder towards the natural world and a deeper understanding of the mysteries of existence.
